Core areas addressed
   
  Increase solidarity amongst fisheries groups, increase capacity of fisheries cooperatives, support conservation of fisheries based coastal eco-systems, identification of community problems through tribunal processes, emergency response to disasters, long term recovery of disaster affected coastal communities, disaster preparedness of vulnerable coastal communities, expansion of livelihood options of fisher folk, addressing legal problems of coastal communities, sustainable , inclusive and environment sensitive coastal tourism development.
   
   
Specific activities to-date
   
  - The most successful post-tsunami community rehabilitation and reconstruction program initiated by a CSO in Sri Lanka
  - Creating of disaster preparedness maps in seven coastal districts
  - Building capacity of fisheries corporative societies
  - Livelihood enhancement
  - Introduction of sustainable tourism activities for fisher folk
  - Preventing development aggression from hurting traditional fisheries activities
  - Expansion of livelihood options by introducing agricultural practices to fisher communities
